Summary

  • The PME Advisor ensures methodological quality and strategic coherence across all CPS levels, promoting a context-sensitive, aligned, and impact-oriented multi-level approach.
  • Key Duties and

Responsibilities

  • Joint Country Strategy (TLS): Advise Program Coordination on preparing, reviewing, and monitoring the TLS, ensuring alignment with CPS objectives
  • Program Planning & Monitoring: Support strategic and operational planning, implement impact-oriented monitoring, and integrate cross-cutting issues such as conflict sensitivity, human rights, diversity/intersectionality
  • Program Proposals & Portfolios: Contribute to new program proposals and portfolio drafts, ensuring compliance with EG and Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) standards
  • Project-Level Support: Facilitate participatory planning, monitoring, and evaluation with partners; apply suitable tools, define roles, and support reporting
  • Learning & Adaptation: Develop recommendations based on monitoring results to foster learning and adaptive management
  • Knowledge Management : Systematize PME findings, document good practices, and channel lessons learned into internal and external learning processes
  • Networking & Exchange: Contribute to knowledge sharing within CPS partners, GIZ CPS structures, the consortium, and GIZ platforms

Experience

  • University degree in Social, Political, or Cultural Sciences, or a comparable professional qualification, preferably with a focus on Peace and Conflict Studies

  • in civil conflict resolution and peacebuilding in crisis or conflict contexts, preferably as a CPS PME Advisor
  • Proven
  • in project/program management and coordination; Expertise in conflict-sensitive approaches and participatory methods and in training, facilitation, and adult learning
  • Excellent communication, advisory, and interpersonal skills; strong self-organization, strategic thinking, and intercultural competence
  • Driving license and willingness to undertake frequent business trips in the region; Work

  • EU citizen
  • Fluent in German and/or English
