Role Description
The Country Director is a full-time leadership role responsible for overseeing YooKatale’s operations, growth, and impact within Uganda. Based in Kampala, this hybrid position requires regular on-site engagement with teams, partners, and customers, combined with some flexibility for working from home. Day-to-day
Responsibilities
include setting and executing the country strategy, managing budgets and resources, and ensuring alignment with the company’s mission, vision, and values. The Country Director will lead and develop cross-functional teams, drive customer-centric initiatives, and cultivate partnerships with key stakeholders such as suppliers, community organizations, and regulators. The role also involves monitoring performance metrics, ensuring compliance with local regulations, identifying new market opportunities, and representing YooKatale in external forums to strengthen brand visibility and trust.

Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, including team development, performance management, and cross-functional coordination.
Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities, with
Experience
- in setting goals, managing budgets, and overseeing operations at a country or regional level.
- Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and relationship management, including work with partners, suppliers, community groups, and government or regulatory bodies.
- Background in business development, market expansion, or social enterprise, ideally within food systems, digital platforms, or consumer-facing services.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly, influence decision-makers, and build consensus.
