- Key Duties and
Responsibilities
- Principal Duties &
- Assess Bank’s business and identify the relevant E&S risks.
- Assess the environmental and social risk profile to optimize business growth and make recommendations.
- Make recommendations for formulating Environment and Social risk policies and guidelines that Bank will follow to comply with E&S requirements.
- Oversee environmental and social risk due diligence. Regularly review the framework for the measurement and control of E&S risks.
- Define risk indicators and tools to identify, measure, control and monitor E&S risks.
- Verify and confirm that the system, policies and structures of E&S are working effectively.
- Provide training to staff on environmental and social risk. Support the Business teams on advising clients regarding environmental and social issues where relevant.
- Research on environmental and social issues and thematic topics that affect Bank’s business.
- Analyze and present opportunities and risks inherent in potential Bank investments.
- Perform regular scenario analyses/stress tests on the environmental Key Risk Indicators to test business resilience in case of adverse events.
- Identify early signals of increasing risk exposure in various areas of Bank’s operations.
- Ensure that Bank has appropriate and up-to-date preventive measures as well as measures to minimize the negative effects of such risks in case they happen. Level of Authority Recommend E&S risk management strategy, policy changes and standards.
- Issue independent E&S opinions to management on related projects and other establishments, initiatives undertaken by the bank.

Experience
- Personal Effectiveness
- Superior Analytical, Planning & organizing skills.
- Strong Communicator (both oral & written). Self-drive. Strong independent judgement.
- Applied knowledge & skills in E&S. Ability to develop E&S tools. Firm appreciation & demonstration of E&S risks, as well as trends in risk.
- Minimum of 5 years related progressive
- including 3 years in E&S and good knowledge in other risk control streams.
- Sector-specific underwriting specialization and/or
- will be an added advantage.
