Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.
Physical
may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment

Responsibilities
The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining various types of heavy and light equipment in support of construction, maintenance, and logistics operations in accordance with Navy operational standards and safety requirements.
include operating equipment such as forklifts, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and other material‑handling or construction equipment as assigned.
The Equipment Operator performs daily equipment inspections, ensures proper operation prior to use, and reports mechanical issues or safety concerns to supervisory personnel. This role includes supporting site preparation, material transport, earth‑moving, and facility maintenance activities while adhering to established work plans and procedures.
Additional duties include maintaining clean and orderly work areas, assisting with basic equipment maintenance, following traffic and operational safety rules, and supporting mission‑driven operations in a remote environment. The Equipment Operator contributes to efficient project execution while maintaining strict compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
