The Fitness Instructor will be responsible for supporting the daily operation of MWR fitness facilities by providing quality fitness instruction, promoting health and wellness programs, and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patrons. Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Responsibilities
Conduct group fitness classes using safe and effective exercise techniques.
Motivate and encourage participants of varying fitness levels while creating a positive and inclusive fitness environment.
Assist patrons with basic fitness equipment orientation and proper exercise techniques.
Promote health, wellness, and physical fitness through organized programs and activities.
Ensure fitness areas are clean, organized, and safe for use.
Monitor fitness equipment and report maintenance or repair needs.
Enforce facility policies, safety procedures, and MWR regulations.
Provide outstanding customer service by responding to patron questions and resolving concerns.
Select appropriate music and develop engaging class routines that support fitness objectives.
Maintain required certifications and remain current on industry best practices and fitness trends.
Respond to medical emergencies and provide CPR/AED assistance when required.
Assist with special events, fitness challenges, and recreational programs as assigned.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
