The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) Ltd was established under the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act and the Petroleum (Refining, Conversion, Transmission and Midstream storage) Act, both of 2013 and incorporated under the Companies’ Act, 2012. It is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of Uganda. The overall function of UNOC is to handle the State’s commercial interests in the Oil and Gas industry and ensure that the resource is exploited in a sustainable manner.

Summary
- Responsible for designing, implementation, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Key Duties and
Responsibilities
- Collaborate in designing and specifying electrical and instrumentation systems for oil and gas facilities.
- Support the development of Instrument Basis of Design and specifications for control and safety systems (DCS, SIS, FGS, MMS, PLC).
- Assist in preparing specifications for cables, junction boxes, terminations, and installation scopes.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of control systems (DCS, PLC).
- Review and prepare data sheets for control valves, safety valves, and field instruments.
- Participate in developing and reviewing ‘Cause & Effect’ and Logic diagrams.
- Assist in preparing material/technical requisitions and conducting technical bid evaluations.
- Review vendor documents for instrumentation and control systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of designs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
- Participate in field monitoring of production systems to ensure compliance with standards.
- Support troubleshooting and minor repairs of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Provide input on metering design proposals and ensure alignment with allocation principles.
- Assist in reviewing work programs and budgets related to production system.

Experience

- Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or any relevant Engineering degree.
- Zero to three (0-3) years of working
- in designing control systems and familiarity with DCS and PLC systems.
- Candidate should have graduated not more than three (3) years from the date of publication of this job advertisement.
- Possession of relevant certification will be an added advantage.
- Membership in the relevant oil and gas industry professional bodies like SPE, AAPG, and SEG is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation design principles, standards, and safety practices.
- Knowledge of control systems and equipment maintenance principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
