- Qualifications And
- Applicants must hold the following valid certifications and endorsements:
- Chief Officer Certificate of Competency for the applicable trading area, in accordance with STCW Regulation A-II/2, including endorsement under A-I/10.1
- Valid Medical Certificate in accordance with STCW Regulation A-I/9
- General Operator’s Certificate (GOC)
- STCW Basic and Advanced Safety Training certificates, including:
- A-VI/1 (1-4) Basic Safety Training
- A-VI/2-1 Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats
- A-VI/3 Advanced Fire Fighting
- A-VI/4-1 Medical First Aid
- A-VI/4-2 Medical Care
- Crowd Management and Crisis Management Training in accordance with STCW Regulations A-V/2-1 and A-V/2-2
- Valid C1/D Visa for entry into and service in the United States
- Previous service on traditional sailing vessels, particularly square-rigged ships, will be considered a significant advantage. Strong leadership, seamanship, and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
