The NGIS Accounting Technician is responsible for performing accounting tasks to ensure the financial integrity of Navy Gateway Inns and Suites operations. This role combines accounting, reporting, and financial analysis expertise with a focus on hospitality services.

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office,
industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.
Physical
may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment

Responsibilities
- Performing routine accounting duties, including processing financial transactions, account reconciliations, and tracking expenditures.
- Managing accounting records and documentation for operational and financial activities in compliance with Navy and company protocols.
- Verifying and posting details of business transactions, such as revenues, expenses, refunds, or other accounts-related activities.
- Collaborating with hospitality staff and management to ensure accurate financial reporting for hotel operations.
- Identifying discrepancies and coordinating with management to resolve accounting-related issues.
- Assisting in financial audits by providing accurate and up-to-date financial data and supporting documentation.
- Using financial management software and systems to record and track operational data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established
- financial policies. Producing reports and summaries of financial activities for management review, including profit and loss statements for NGIS operations.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
- Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience, preferably in hotel management/services or a hospitality-related field.
