About Organisation:

The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) is a statutory body established under Section 9 of the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production Act 2013, and in line with the National Oil and Gas Policy for Uganda which was approved in 2008. The PAU’s mandate is to monitor and regulate the exploration, development and production, together with the refining, gas conversion, transportation and storage of petroleum in Uganda. This includes ensuring that petroleum operations in Uganda are carried out in accordance with the relevant laws, regulations, guidelines, statutes and in line with international best practice for the petroleum industry.

Job Summary:

To monitor and regulate the development and operation of gas conversion and utilisation facilities to ensure that they are designed, constructed, operated, and maintained in a safe, efficient, and secure manner by protecting the people, property, and environment and creating value for society.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitoring activities related to the development of gas processing and utilisation facilities.

Carries out the review of engineering designs of the gas processing and utilisation facilities.

Participates in the preparation, documentation, and review of periodic progress reports and submissions.

Contributes to the development of guidelines, procedures, and manuals for gas processing and utilisation activities.

Reviews technical reports submitted by licensees for gas processing and utilisation activities.

Provides technical support in the review of the country’s Legislation for gas conversion.

Evaluation and review of codes and standards submitted for gas conversion facilities.

Facilitates the administration agreements and contracts related to gas conversion facilities in the country.

Undertakes any other assignments as may be directed from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Basic Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Engineering or Physical Sciences.

Experience

Three (3) years of relevant work experience in Oil and Gas process facilities design, development, or operations.

Added Advantage

Specific Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.

Character & Competencies

Risk Management.

Audit planning and implementation.

Analytical skills.

Innovative.

High level of integrity.

Communication and report writing skills.
