CNOOC Uganda Limited is a subsidiary of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). CNOOC International is one of the largest oil and gas companies in Uganda’s energy sector and owns one-third interests in each of Exploration Areas (EA) EA1/1A, EA2 and Kingfisher. Our partners are Total E&P Uganda (33.3%) and Tullow Oil (33.3%). CNOOC International operates the Kingfisher production license.

Job Summary:

Learn Oilfield Production Operations and maintenance work.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Participate in new oil field production commissioning and start-up.

Assist in collecting, identifying, and following up on production-related issues left out by the Engineering team, and report abnormalities to senior operators.

Learn to manage emergency response as per the emergency response plan.

Learn the production process, central control system, ESD, Fire & Gas system, equipment parameters and operation procedure, chemical MSDS and characteristics, system initial and normal start-up procedure, and system normal and emergency shutdown procedure.

Assist in carrying out routine operations and deal with production abnormalities to avoid production shutdown, equipment damage, or any petroleum-related leaking.

Assist in operating oil/water/gas and chemical processes, maintain process stability, and treat oil and water to meet specifications.

Participate in production-related equipment, routine checks and records, and promptly report abnormalities to senior operators.

Participate in production-related equipment preventive maintenance.

Ensure the worksite cleanliness and safety is maintained.

Assist in coordinating and supervising production-related contractor onsite work.

Execute instructions from senior operators.

Participate in all training programs organized by the Company.

Perform other duties assigned by superiors.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related fields.

2 years’ work experience with an Oil & Gas industry background is preferred.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of oil and gas processes.
